Debutantes AAMUSTED Finish Fourth at 25th GUSA Cross Country Competition
The 25th edition of the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) annual Cross Country competition came to an incredible end ā as first-timers, the Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) came 4th of our 14 participating universities.
University of Ghana (UG) lifted the ultimate with the fewest points of only 47, leapfrogging all Ghana universities for their fame and glory. This happens to be their first triumph since 2014.
Heavyweight, University of Education Winneba (UEW) sits 2nd despite producing the winner in Williams Amponsah and 1st runners-up John Attiah.
The University of Cape Coast placed 3rd to book the final podium finish.
Astonishingly, AAMUSTED as maiden participants bulldozed their way into the top 4 finish, where their talisman Noah Wumboriche, finished amongst the finest 10 athletes in this yearās event.
AAMUSTED Sports Directorate, Julius Baba Apidago, and their trainer Dramani Yakubu Alhassan alongside Chairman of Amalgamated Sports Club Alfred Morrison led charges put up hair-during exploits that got all tongues wagging for their magisterial performance as first-timers.
Elsewhere, AAMUSTED female team sat 6th in the ladies’ division which was won by the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
