Confirmed William Amponsah Will Participate In The Marrakech Marathon
William Amponsah one of the most promising distance athletes in West Africa paid a courtesy visit to the Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana.
The main purpose of the visit was to inform the Ambassador about his preparations towards the upcoming Marathon International De Marrakech, Morocco. This event has been in existence for over 31 years and is considered among the world most prestigious marathons according ratings from the best marathons sites. Confirmed William Amponsah Will Participate In The Marrakech Marathon.
The 32th edition of the International Marrakech Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 19th September, 2021. The International Marrakech Marathon is expected to have over 5000 athletes from all over the world to participate coming September. William Amponsah will compete in the half marathon event.

The visit was also accompanied by Mr. Charles Abeiku Forson, Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Daakye Runner Club. He has also been an advocate for better Ghana athletics agenda and very pivotal tool in Ghana Athletics.
Mr. Henri Senyo Penni, General Manager of Medivent Consult said “the decision to select this marathon for the top Ghanaian athlete was due to the rich history of the Marathon International De Marrakech, which has existed for over 31 years. The Marathon in Marrakech would offer Amponsah the needed platform to compete with the best on the continent and the world. Mr. Penni has plans for giving athletes competitive platforms to perform adding that plans were in place to have more international collaborations for the local athletes.”
Mr. William Dodzi Ezah a member of the Medivent Consult and one of the leading race directors in Ghana was also part of the delegation team that paid the courtesy call on the Ambassador.
Mrs. Imane Ouaadil, Ambassador of Morocco to Ghana said “she was thrilled with this special visitation and the decision of the best distance athlete to compete in the 32th International Marrakech Marathon. She later disclosed her plans to have a stronger collaboration with Ghana in the area of sports, business, housing, and other sectors of the economy to strengthen the relationship between these two countries”.
According to Mrs. Ouaadil, the Moroccan Embassy in Ghana is ready to provide the needed support for William Amponsah in his quest for the participation.
She itch him to go and excel in the competition to make Ghana and West Africa proud.
