Commonwealth Games 2022: Abdul Saminu set to debut in 200m in Birmingham– University of Ghana’s (UG) Student-Athlete Abdul Rasheed Saminu will make his debut in the senior national team for Ghana at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Saminu will compete in the 200m dash on Thursday, 4 August. He will run in heat 2 in lane 3. The UG athlete has chalked a lot of success in his 2022 season campaign. He is the fastest athlete in Ghana in the 100m in 2022.
He run a personal best of 10.31 seconds in the 100 metres dash at the 1oth Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Games in Nairobi, Kenya.

Abdul Rasheed Saminu (Level 200)
Saminu a beneficiary of both UG-PAAS and UG-SF made his personal best of 10.31 seconds in 100m at his first international competition at the 10th Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Games in Nairobi, Kenya in June 2022. He was part of UG’s 4x100m Team that represented Ghana at the Invitational Relay Championship in Benin City, Nigeria, and won silver in June 2022.
