Coach Koora Trains Underage Athletes in Kumasi
One of the renowned Coaches in Ghana Athletics, Mr. Paul Tuffour – Coach Koora – has already begun training the underage athletes at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
His ambition is to unearth, groom, showcase their talent, and also create a platform for underage athletes in Ghana. Starting sports early helps the athletes to develop well and be able to run fast times.
Athletics in Ghana mostly begins at the senior high school level which makes it the athletes very difficult for them to excel and reach greater heights in the field of athletics.
Ghanaian athletes always find it very difficult to qualify for any of the youth games because of some of these issues.
According to him, he is preparing them for the 2022 Youth Olympic Championships which was first organised by the Legon Creative Athletics Club (LCAC) at the Paa Joe Sports Stadium, Kumasi, Ashanti Region. That was the first ever major youth championship to be organised in Ghana.
“I do train the underage athletes for free. We train at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Currently am having 30 athletes and still need more of them. I don’t take any money from parents, what they will do is to bring their wards to the stadium”, Coach Koora said.
