Central Region Names Top Athletes For Camping | Central Region | National Cross Country Championship |

Central Regional National Sports Authority (NSA) has named top athletes for camping ahead of the 2022 National Cross Country Championship.

The Central Regional team has been a team to beat in all the three conservative national cross country championships and they are always among the top 3 finishers.

According to their head coach, the objective of the region in this year’s championship is to sweep all the medals and continue to take the overall team trophies in both categories.

Below are the names of the boys that are already in camp and training had already begun; Basit Afful, Ishmael Fialor, Richard Kweitu, Evans Tetteh, Dominic Amponsah, Philip Qaicoo, Kingsley Yeboah.

In addition is Ghana’s Half Marathon record holder William Amponsah is also expected to join the team this afternoon and the ECOWAS youth bronze medallist Aziz Mohammed and Sadiq Aloo of the University of Ghana are also likely to join the rest of the team on Tuesday, 15th February 2022.

The ladies also have a strong field as well. Below are the names; Akotia Magdalene, Nora Arthur, Grace Aidoo, Abigail Ocean, Elizabeth Awotwe, and Esther Acheampong.

“Our focus now is to sweep all the top three awards both male and female and also to win the ultimate team regional trophy”, Coach Evans Yeboah disclosed to Athleticshour.

“We are patiently waiting for our two military guys to join the team; Ishmael Arthur and Salifu Seidu”, he added
