CAF Names AFCON Best Eleven At Cameroon

Senegal has never won the African Cup of Nations since its introduction in 1957. The AFCON is the biggest football sporting event in Africa and in the history of the game the first time it was competed by 24 countries.
Senegal has won its first AFCON in 65 years of existence. The team deserves it and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named the best eleven of the tournament and Senegalese players are dominating.
Sadio Mane and Edouard Mendy, the newly crowned TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 champions, as well as Egyptian striker Mohammed Salah, have been named to the Confederation of African Football’s best squad of the just-ended tournament.
Senegal has four players in the starting eleven which is a great improvement for their team.
The team was announced on Monday, 7th February by CAF, and it consisted of the best players in the tournament, as determined by the Technical Study Group.

Aside from Salah, Mane, and Mendy, players like Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Burkina Faso’s Edmund Tapsoba, and Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar all made the starting eleven.
Youssouf M’Changama, the captain of Comoros, was included among the substitutes, along with Collins Fai, Karl Ekambi Toko, and Andre Anguissa, all of Cameroon.
The team was made up of players from Senegal, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Comoros and Morocco
