Breaking News: The Maiden Edition Of The Tamale Marathon Called Off
The maiden edition of the Tamale Marathon has been canceled and it has been rescheduled to next year to its original date. The event was rescheduled to take place on Saturday, 27th November 2021 on the principal streets of Tamale. Breaking News: The maiden edition of the Tamale Marathon called off.
The Technical Committee of the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) has certified the event. GAA brought an official communique on 19th November 2021, a letter signed by the Chief Executive of Officer (CEO), Mr. Bawa Fuseini.
The race organisers issued a statement that all athletes should hold on. Nobody should travel to Tamale until they have given them the green light. Because they were having an emergency meeting.
The outcome of the meeting.
āDue to what we have suffered, it may not be prudent to hold the event this year. We are locked in a meeting with the stakeholders. The consensus decision of the stakeholders is to reschedule the event to next year to its original dateā, said the Race Director, Mr. Charles Cobbina.
The Tamale Marathon was to be in history books as the first-ever major competitive road race event to be held in the Northern Sector of Ghana.

The original date was on 25th September 2021.
A new date will be in September 2022 but whether on 24th or 25th we canāt confirm that.
