Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Amoah set to battle the best in Oregon


Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Amoah set to battle the best in Oregon – Ghana’s 100m record holder Benjamin Kwaku Azamati and 200m record holder Joseph Paul Amoah will be in action at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, United.

The duo has been drawn in heat 6 and heat 7 respectively in the men’s 100m preliminary rounds. Both have had a tremendous and successful season from the indoors to the outdoors championships in 2022.

Both athletes are also part of the 4Ɨ100m relay team that broke the national record in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Japan. The quartet made history as the only African nation that qualified for the finals.

The start of the afternoon event of the 2022 World Athletics Championships is 00:05 am in Ghana but the 100m heats will begin at exactly 01:50 am (night)
