BAAMENSA FOUNDATION DONATES TOWARDS AKIM ODA 2022 NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP
Members of the BAAMENSA FOUNDATION, an Akim Oda-based community development group, have contributed to the National Sports Authority’s successful staging of the 2022 National Cross Country Competition at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region.
At a brief ceremony today in the premises of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly, the members donated 112 bags of the Sachet Water and 17 packs of the Awake purified Water for the consumption of the Visiting Teams and Athletes.
Receiving the items on behalf of the LOC and the Director-General, the Deputy Director General (Technical) of the National Sports Authority, Mr. Kwame Amponfi Jnr, thanked the BAAMENSA FOUNDATION members for the kind gesture and appealed to other local entities and individuals to support to make the event a success. Present during the presentation was the Eastern Regional Director of the National Sports Authority, Madam Gifty Horsu Fianu, and Madam Emelia Ansah, an Accountant of the NSA from Head office.
The Foundation members led by the Administrator, Mr. Samuel Asimeng, Madam Regina Obiri, CEO Regina Tombrown and Obaa Yaa (Miss Kotoku) also a member were elated to be part of the event.
Madam Regina who is also poised to donate to the winning Athletes’ packs of Tombrown on Saturday 26th February 2022 thanked the organizers for hosting the national event in Akim Oda.

Sekyere Richard has had a 10-year involvement in the sport of athletics. He holds a Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Sekyere has experienced the sport as a middle/distance athlete, coach, and now journalist and blogger. Sekyere has published several articles on athletics from Ghanaian Athletics to World Athletics. He currently owns and manages the content and the marketing development of Athletics Hour. I like to expose the hidden talents in the youth and I am always in search of talents across Ghana". I have volunteered in one of the biggest ultra-marathons in the world "Elton Ultra Marathon in Russia. Covered many races in Ghana including ECOWAS CAA Region II Championship and multiple road and track races in Ghana. In 2021, he launched the "Better Ghana Athletics Agenda", which will help support the race organisers, athletes and coaches in all directions.
