Atia Koogo has dominated again at the maiden edition of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Cross Country Championship. The event was held at the Air Force Golf Park in the Greater Accra Region. Atia is amongst the best distance runners in the country currently.

The men’s race started around 8:30 am just after the last lady crossed the finish line.
The race was very packed with the best and most experienced distance runners in Ghana, West Africa.

Ishmael Atta in the first 4km was leading and the pace was very hot with Aziz Mohammed and Koogo Atia following him.

Unfortunately, the ECOWAS Junior Medallist had some stomach crumbs and stopped the race halfway. Another name was the former Milo Marathon champion Kasim Mohammed also dropped out while another Milo Marathon medallist Akakia Tampuri was among the first 30 top finishers.

Koogo Atia won the men’s 10km race in 31:34.40 while David Nakousi of Adisadel College placed second in 32:05.47 and Ishmael Atta of GAF also placed third 32:09.50
