Athletics Ranks Amongst Top 5 Federations In Ghana

Athletes Receive Their Packages From The President Of Ghana – Tokyo Olympic Games

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has delivered his promise made to the athletes after the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Ghanaians athletes put up a world-class performance and brought home a bronze medal in boxing. Athletes received their packages from the president of Ghana – Tokyo Olympic Games.

The President of Ghana met all the athletes after the successful campaign at the Jubilee House and awarded them and also made a lot of promises to all the contingents who traveled to Japan.

Ghana Athletics sent seven (7) track and field athletes and three coaches. The team was made of up Captain Joseph Paul Amoah, Sean Safo Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Emmanuel Yeboah, Nadia Eke, Joseph Oduro Manu, and Sarfo Ansah. The coaches were Ofori Asare, Professor Andrew Owusu, and Julius Baba Apidogo.

They all received the president’s bonus of $5000 each.

Others sports disciplines were Samuel Takyi, the bronze medalist in the box, Abeiku Gyeke Jackson and Unilez Takyi are swimmers, Tetteh Suleitmanu and Shakul Samed are boxers, Christian Amoah is a weight lifter and Anani Sansei Kwadjo of Judo.

The presentation was done by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Honourable Ussif Mustapha.

In addition, Samuel Takyi also received a car and a professional enhancement package after his heroic performance at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
