Mr. Paul Tuffour popularly known as Coach Koora  has vowed to sacrifice and train kids in Ghana who are interested in Athletics. Coach Koora is among the best coaches in Ghana, West Africa. In recent times, he has been eager to train the kids in Ghana  on the agenda “Better Ghana Athletics”. Am ready to sacrifice and train kids who are interested in athletics for free – Coach Koora.

In an exclusive interview with Athleticshour, he disclosed to us that he going to sacrifice his time just to help the upcoming kids who have shown interest in the sports especially in the field of athletics.

He also said that the idea came when he went to the high performance coaching course in Bolgota, Columbia. When he came back to Ghana, he decided to unearth, nurture, support and develop kids in Ghana after a successful coaching course.

According to him if we want a better future for Ghana Athletics we need to start training the kids so that when the predecessors are gone we will get a replacement and the cycle keeps on moving.

He mentioned Isaac Nkansah, Paul Tuffour, Vida Anim, Magaret Simpson and co during their time, athletics was very vibrant, very serious and the atmosphere was great and everyone was talking about them and athletics in Ghana and the world but now that channel is no more. Nevertheless, they are gone but thank God we have Azamati Benjamin, Joseph Paul Amoah, Latifa Ali, Ansah Sarfo, Edwin Gadayi, Grace Obour and the rest are now our future.

“If they are gone who will replaced them?” he asked.

“I want to start unearthing and developing kids in Ghana who are interested in athletics. My focus is on the young and upcoming for both male and female in the Ashanti region. Although I would like to extend it to other regions and plans are in place. The training will be free and no athlete will pay anything. I know that Ghana will benefit in this project some time to come”, said Coach Koora.

Coach Koara has trained a lot of great athletes in Ghana and some of them are Olympian Sarfo Ansah. Sarfo Ansah was part of the Ghana 4*100 metres Relay Team at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The Ghana Team was the only African Nation to qualify for the final in the men’s 4*100m relays. He has also trained the Ashanti Regional Inter-Collegiate record holder in the both 100 metres and 200 metres Doreen Adjei Safowaa. She is now currently schooling in the United States and still chasing her athletics dreams in the states.

Coach Koora is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Great Ashanti Athletics Club (GAAC) which is based in Kumasi, Ashanti Region. The club has been registered and its a recognised club in Ghana. He is also the Technical Coach of the Ashanti Regional Athletics Association.
