The National Circuit Championship (NCC) is one of the biggest and competitive championships that is organised by the mother federation of all athletics events in the country that is the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA). All That You Need To Know About The Upcoming National Circuit Championship (NCC)

The National Circuit Championship mostly is based on your athletic performance of the year.

Most of the Regional Athletics Associations (RAA) does organize small competitions to be used as selection of their athletes to represent the whole region in the National Circuit Championship (NCC).

There is also a quota that is given to most of the reputable institutions in the country that most of their workers have a little athletics background and history.

The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) is responsible for giving these institutions their quota and informs them the number of athletes they supposed to present for the National Circuit Championship (NCC).

Some of the major institutions that are mostly invited are the Ghana University of Sports Association (GUSA), the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), the Ghana Armed Force (GAF), the Ghana Police Service (GPS), the Regional Association Athletics Teams (RAAT), the Ghana Fire Service (GFS), the Ghana Prison Service (GPS), the Ghana Aviation Service (GAS) and many more.

During the National Circuit Championship (NCC), the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) provides free accommodation and sometimes transportation for all the invited regions and the institutions.

CAN INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE OR A CLUB PARTICIPATE?

YES!    But more clarification must be from the organisers that is Ghana Athletics Association!

When it comes to the individual athlete and club participants the Ghana Athletics Association will not provide any free accommodation for you because you were not on their invited list and you could not also made it through your regional team. You go there on your own expenses which the Ghana Athletics Association will allow you to participate as an individual athlete.

The National Circuit Championship is not for all but the best athletes that have done tremendous work during competitions in the year. They got that opportunity to participate in this kind of championship. Remember that the Open Championship is different from the National Circuit Championship.

Everybody can participant in any open championship whether young or adult. There are no restrictions on anyone but National Circuit Championship purely on performance bases.

Each region and institution will have their own criteria for selection of their athletes for the upcoming National Circuit Championship (NCC).

We are all aware of the damage that covid has brought to our sports. Per my investigations most of the regions will not do any competitions again to select their athletes.  This is mainly of monetary issues and the harm covid has also caused.

Most of the regions will select their athletes based on the performance during the Open Championship that was held at the Paa Joe Sport Stadium, Kumasi, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the two preliminary rounds of the GNPC Ghana Fastest Human (GFH).

All Covid 19 protocols will be strictly observed.

Update on all the available disciplines will be posted soon.
