Akim Oda 2022: Ashanti Regional Athletics Association Donates to Region’s XC Team
The Ashanti Regional Athletics Association (ARAA) has donated to the region’s cross country team ahead of the upcoming 2022 National Cross Country Championships.
The donation was led by the Vice-Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Athletics Association, Mr. Akwesi Duodo on Friday, February 18, 2022. He made a donation of bottled water and some drinks to the athletes who will represent the Ashanti Region at the National Cross Country in Akim Oda next weekend.
He also made a cash donation to the team and presented 5 packs of drinking water and several brands of soft drinks as part of his contribution to the team.
Mr. Duodo during the brief event encouraged the athletes to do their best to make the region proud.
“When you go there remember that the whole region is behind you. We will prepare a nice package for you when you win. We have done some for your predecessors and we will do the same for you as well”, he said.
The ARAA in recent times has been supporting all athletics activities in the region and in a similar way also donated to the maiden edition of the Junior Olympics Junior Championships that was held at the Paa Joe Sports Stadium.
Ag. Ashanti Regional Director of NSA, Emmanuel Kojo Appiah received the items on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Cross Country Team.
He assured the ARAA Vice-Chairman that the team is ready and will deliver at Akim Oda.
“We have been trying to provide them with everything they need in camping. I know they will win for Ashanti Region”, he added.
Present were the regional head coach Mr. Paul Tuffour amongst other executives of ARAA and the athletes.
