Africans are born to be sprinters – Ghanaian coach reveals – A renowned and famous coach from West Africa, Ghana has disclosed that “Africans are naturally born to become sprinters” he said in an interview.
A claim that most coaches and scientists around the world are still doubting for answers. Are Africans naturally born to become sprinters or middle or long-distance athletes?
West Africans are naturally good in the sprints
Eastern Africans are naturally good in the middle and long distance
North Africans are good at the middle distance events
South Africans are also good in the sprints
Mr. Paul Tuffour, popularly known as – Coach Koora – a former Ghana National Athlete (sprinter), is now the head coach of the Ashanti Region Athletics Association of the National Sports Authority (NSA) further enlighting his claims in the said statement.
He later emphasised some of the successes that Ghana has chalked since independence in Athletics and without any doubt, the sprinters are leading.
“From the olden days, Ohene Karikari, and co, Mark King, Gifty, Oko Addy and co, all of them. You know, in Ghana we are born to sprint and the Blackman wants to sprint all the time. What one can you say is that in the 2022 Commonwealth Games if you look at the whole team you can see the light thrown on the sprinters.
We were expecting Azamati to win a medal but he couldn’t make it but that’s not the end of his career” he added.
