In the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho produced a remarkable first-half goal to lead Nigeria to an amazing victory over Egypt. AFCON 2021: Nigeria Stuns Egypt.

Nigeria won a game between two Group D heavyweights on Tuesday, with the seven-time champions struggling to make an impact.

Iheanacho broke the deadlock with a stunning shot from the edge of the box that reached the top corner.

The goal came as a result of Nigeria’s constant pressure, which was spearheaded by FC Nantes winger Moses Simon, who created multiple chances with his quickness and cunning.

He was involved in the scoring because his cross was mishandled by the Egyptians, allowing Joe Aribo to set up Iheanacho for the goal.

Nigeria may have increased to their total had they not squandered a slew of chances against a dismal Egypt team led by captain Mohamed Salah.

Mohamed El Shenawi, the Egyptian goalkeeper, made some crucial stops late in the game to save the game from becoming lopsided.

As a result, the Super Eagles are currently in first place in Group D, while Egypt, led by Carlos Quieroz, has their work cut out for them in their next two group games.

Egypt had never lost any of their last previous six games but today Nigeria has stunned the African giants in the opening game. Thanks to Iheanacho’s stunning strike from the 18yard box.
