Ghana’s Black Stars began their AFCON campaign with a lone goal loss against Morocco at the Amadou Ahidjo Sports Stadium in Cameroon. AFCON 2021: Ghana loses to Morocco in AFCON opening.
In the first half, few chances were generated, although Ghana came close to scoring in the 71st minute when Sulemana’s curling shot from long range was blocked by Morocco’s goalkeeper.

Between the 60th to the 80th minute, Ghana had a tactical advantage over Morocco. The Moroccans remained dominant after the 80th minute, and Sofiane Boufal scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute.
Goalkeeper Wallocott made a fantastic stop to deny Sofiane Rahimi’s effort in the dying minutes of the game.
