On Friday, Ghana’s critical 202 1 Africa Cup of Nations match against Gabon was lost due to a lackluster second-half performance. AFCON 2021: Gabon 1 vs 1 Ghana.

In a match that Ghana needed to win to advance to the knockout stage, the Black Stars conceded in the 89th minute to draw with the Panthers.

Captain Andre Ayew set the tone for the Black Stars by scoring the game’s first goal.

His tenth goal at the Afcon appeared to have given the Black Stars three points, but late in the game, Jim Allevinah scored from close range.

As things stand in Group C, Gabon will be in second place with 4 points behind Morocco, who has already qualified for the round of 16 with 6 points, while Ghana is in third place with 1 point and Comoros is in last place with a point.

After the full-throttle, Andre Ayew was named Man Of The Match.

Ghana, the four-time champion, will have to defeat Comoros, an AFCON newcomer, to advance to the next round of the game, while Gabon will face Morocco on Tuesday.

Ghana took the lead through Andre Ayew midway through the first half, but Gabon substitute Jim Allevinah equalized in the 88th minute.
