His completion in the 21km race brought a lot of miss reactions amongst the fans, the coaches, and the competitors. Many marveled at how a 12-year-old boy can outrun most of the big men and women in a race.

This is what his coach said “I’m not surprised for Robert at all, but I sight with the people here. They are amazed and worried at the same time because they don’t know him”, he said.

His coach John Senanu Segbe-Adzraku is a Ghanaian National Race Walker Athlete and he has been competing in almost all the road races that are being organised in Ghana.

“Every day when am going to training, Robert will follow me. When am walking then he will also be running slowly and following me. Sometimes, I can walk for about 21km and he will still follow me. So when he finished the 21km race and a lot of people were surprised, that’s why I said they don’t know him”, Coach John Senanu added.

Robert on Saturday, 3rd September 2022 competed in the Millennium Marathon 5km fun race and he placed 72nd in a time of 18:18s (PB) which is also a new personal best (PB) for the young promising boy.

Coach John also seeks support for young Robert to be able to help him train well and realize his dream.
